Established in 1997 by Dr.-Ing Harald Jensen, the Hamburg Ship Model Basin (HSVA), and Germanischer Lloyd (GL),
SDC Ship Design & Consult GmbH has undergone dynamic expansion, now under the ownership of HSVA,
Harald Jensen and Michael Waechter.
With the recent appointment of Dr. Florian Kluwe as additional Managing Director since July 1st, 2023,
the company is poised for further growth and innovation.

Today, SDC Ship Design & Consult GmbH stands as a comprehensive design consultancy, offering a complete suite of
services for ships and offshore structures to shipowners and shipyards alike. The dedicated team at SDC boasts
expertise in various facets of ship design, encompassing ship stability, strength analysis, mechanical engineering,
project management, and site inspection. Through strategic partnerships and seamless collaboration with co-founders,
as well as highly specialized experts, SDC ensures an optimal service offering.
